It was my twinners bistros Grand Opening yesterday and holy crap was it CHAOS!!! The second we opened the doors we had people waiting in a line out the door. Wait time for food about 45 min to an hour!!! We had a few up set people but a lot of happy people. We felt really bad for those that had to wait so long for their food. We thought it would be busy but not like this. We actually ran out of food around 3 and had to close for an hour and a half to get more food, get re-stocked, and just re-freshen up. I made about 600 cupcakes and around 2 most of them were sold out and around 4 they were completely gone. I felt terrible, people were coming in just to get a cupcake and we had none :( I am so so sorry about that, I hope that all of you come back, I promise the cupcakes are great and the grilled cheeses are delicious! Angie and I were running around with our heads cut off but it was 110% worth it and we loved every second of the Chaos!!! Thanks for all of your support, we love all of you so much!!! Pre Cupcake Wars - In our green room, happy as can be!

So I bet you thought we won...or at least got further than we did. I bet you didn't think we got cut first especially after telling everyone that we were on the show and how excited I was! I was hesitant at first to tell anyone we were on the show and then I thought "we were on cupcake wars!!! A chance of a life time! How many people can say they were on the Food Network living their dream!!!" So I told the world we were going to be on Cupcake Wars.
My thoughts...really sad. That day was one of the most depressing days of my life. Not because I lost on Cupcake Wars because there is so much work behind the scenes that no one will ever know about but us. I worked so hard to be on this show and I failed miserably ! What they didn't show is that Angie kept telling me to re-do the cupcake but I couldn't we didn't have enough time. What else they didn't show you...we probably tried 8 cupcakes and thought exactly what the judges said...bready, doughy, crumbly, just not good. I should have made a cupcake that I knew not just make one up on the spot...what was I thinking!!!
Watching the show was very bitter sweet. I am so grateful to be on the show but so embarrassed to be eliminated FIRST!!!
I hope those of you that have tried my cupcakes know that they aren't bready and doughy ha ha! I hope that you that have not tried my cupcakes will come into Cravings and try one, I promise you will love them!
This has not defeated me. I know I can make a good cupcake and I promise this will not be the last time you see me!!!

So you see it all the time...bacon can be added to everything! Recently I saw a maple glazed donuts with bacon crumbled on it and thought...hmm I should try this with a cupcake. So I made a bacon buttermilk cupcake and topped it off with a maple butter cream frosting and sprinkled bacon bits on top. Last week I got a call from California. Chris asked me if I made cake pops, I told him yes but I let him know I was in Utah (I actually had a lady do her whole wedding order and we finally realized she was in New Jersey!) he replied he was wanting for them for friends that lived in Utah. Alright I said! He wanted to congratulate his friends on getting married so he wanted to give them a gift basket with "Bride and Groom" cake pops. Well this was a first for me!!! ALOT of trials and errors, chocolate all over the place, I'm not going to lie, I don't make cake pops a lot so it did NOT come easy to me ha ha!!! Well after a lot of errors I finally got them done! Whala!!! Aren't they cute!

Cravings is expanding...kind've...my twinner Angela Wilson is opening up a Bistro inside of the boutique Finders Keepers located 63 East Main St., American Fork, Utah. She will be serving gourmet grilled cheeses for adults and kids too! My two favorites are the ABC which is granny smith Apples, brown sugared Bacon and sharp Chedder Cheese. The other favorite, the Gourmet Grilled Cheese which is a grilled cheese full of spinach, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, artichokes and lots more yummy stuff! You have to try this bistro out it's one of the only grilled cheese bistros in Utah. Another 1st Birthday! I told you something was in the water! My sister n'law (and let you remind you my husband is 1 out of 10 kids. 5 of the kids are married with kids. An old high school friend Whitney contacted me wanting me to make her little boys 1st birthday cake. He is a little football player so I wasn't surprised when she asked me to make it BYU/sports themed. She wanted the cake to have a BYU jersey on it and even wanted the Nike sign which I thought was awesome! I made blue velvet cupcakes with blue frosting (go BYU!) and topped them off with different sport balls. They turned out perfect! I used a new edible pin I purchased a while ago and loved how it looked on the decors. Why haven't I used this more :) Thanks Whitney for the order and Happy Birthday Carter! Calla Lilys...hmm I have never made these flowers before. A bride asked me to make these for her wedding...like our motto "You imagine it, we'll create it" and that is what I did. First of all I didn't even know what a calla lily looked like so google came to the rescue! Loved them! So elegant! For this wedding she had me decorate them of course with calla lily's, candied carrots, and purple flowers. Loved these cupcakes and I hope the bride and groom did too!

What a ray of sunshine this bride was! She had to be one of the happiest, bubbliest brides I have ever met. Her smile and laughter was contagious just talking to her. She loved what I had created for her and her husband. They had their luncheon at Thanksgiving point, oh my goodness it was beautiful. Aren't these babies the cutest! My friends are all sisters and all had babies last year around the same time so they decided to have a combine 1st year birthday party for their babies. It was a Safari theme and I loved it ! What a cute idea! They had their sister 'nlaw make their outfits and bibs. They made the cute cute birthday hats and made so many cute decorations for the party. I came up with these individual cakes with them. Topped with a Safari animal, a number 1 and a banner with each childs name. I also made cupcakes to follow the theme. I just love what I do because of this! They don't get the movies first but they don't get them last either like the dollar theatres. They get them a few weeks after they are released and tickets are ONLY $3!!! Concessions are only $1 and $2!!! Crazy huh! My gourmet cupcakes will be sold on weekends there for $2! They are rich, delicious, and they will for sure get you your sugar fix. Right now we are selling Peanut Butter Cup, White Chocolate Vanilla, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Darn Good Chocolate! If you don't have time for a movie you can just grab yourself a cupcake on the left side concession stands.

So my question...would you buy a cupcake at a Movie Theater?

K, I usually won't brag out my cupcakes but this I have to! OMG it is heaven in your mouth! And it's so refreshing on these hot summer days!!! I thought of the idea because my sister made a fruit cake kinda like fruit pizza and it was delicious! I love Fruit Pizza so I thought...hmm maybe I'll put them together and whala! Fruit Pizza Cupcakes! You have to try one, and these are only going to be once a year when fruit is in season.

Princess Cupcakes

My friend called me the night before in a deli-ma telling me she forgot she needed cupcakes for her little girls birthday for her preschool. So last minute I whipped these Chocolate Cupcakes with a pink/purple swirl butter cream frosting and topped them off with a crown. I then added some sparkle with some pink sugar. These were made in a hurry but they worked and all kids love cupcakes...don't they?

My baby Girl was blessed December 5th by her daddy. We had a luncheon afterward and of course I made cupcakes :) I made cupcake toppers with Allie's pictures, made pink sugar cookies, and a banner with her name. It was a great day and I feel so very blessed to have such a great family!

Raspberry Chocolate Truffle

If you like Chocolate and Raspberries you will absolutely LOVE, LOVE this cupcake! My newest creation the Raspberry Chocolate Truffle Cupcake. It's a moist chocolate cupcake with a few chocolate chips mixed in, filled with a Raspberry Sauce and topped with a milk chocolate frosting drizzled with a rich chocolate ganache. It is fantastic!
